A complete history of All Ceylon Thareekathul Mufliheen From The Inception.

All Ceylon Thareekathul Mufliheen, a Sufi order, was founded 45 years ago by the spiritual leader Sheihul Mufliheen, Sulthanul Arifeen M.S.M. Abdullah(Rah), popularly known as “Pailvaan” meaning (Wrestler) in English. He lived in Maruthamunai, a coastal town in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. All Ceylon Thareekathul Mufliheen was registered as a Cultural Society on 1st June, 1989 in the District Secretariat, Batticaloa, the capital city of the Eastern Province, hold legal status to observe the Religion on which the spiritual leader and his followers have reposed their faith. Members of this society follow Islam and hold the belief in “Thowheed” (Omnipresence of God or Oneness of the Being- There is nothing except Allah). The Head Office is located in Kattankudy with Branches in other parts of the country and now has more than 20,000 members worldwide, reposed their faith on the doctrine enunciated by this spiritual leader.

In the year 1980 the spiritual leader authored the Tamil Book “ஈமானின் உண்மையை நீ அறிவாயா?” (Do you know the truth of Iman).

Fatwa:

The religious body of All Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama – the Council of Muslim Theologians without a clear and perfect understanding of the text and a proper hearing issued a “Fatwa” (Religious Edict) on 10th September, 1989 and made a public declaration in the Tamil newspaper, “The Thinapathy” of 16th September, 1989 and termed the spiritual leader and his followers as those who have renounced Islam “Murthath”.

Revocation Of Fatwa:

The above illegal and unwarranted act caused great pain of mind and loss of reputation to the spiritual leader, who filed a defamation case against the All Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama – the Council of Muslim Theologians in the District Court of Colombo in the year 1990. After 6 long years of hearing the Jamiathul Ulama in the year 1996 agreed to a settlement and revoked the “Fatwa” in the District Court of Colombo and stated that the said “Fatwa” be deemed not to have been made.

In the year 1990 the spiritual leader in his Tamil Book “Thirukkuran Theerpu Part 2 – திருக்குர்ஆன் தீர்ப்பு பாகம் 2” threw a challenge and offered a cash reward of a sum of Rupees One Hundred Thousand to anyone who can disprove his writing on conditions as set out in his book, but none has come forward to take up his challenge as yet.

All Ceylon Thareekathul Mufliheen is a peace-loving and non-violent Religious Society with an unblemished image. The members of this society have shown their patience and tolerance even in times of grave injustice and calamity to them and at all times sought non-violent and legal means for any solution. The words of wisdom of our spiritual leader are to detest armed violence and to strictly resort to peaceful means to evolve a solution in a crisis situation. A striking and noteworthy feature of this religious society is that the members are following this concept to the very letter.

Members of this Religious Society were denied Registration of Marriages and Burial of dead bodies according to Islamic rites and through legal proceedings lost rights were restored.

We have accordingly made our submissions to the Court of Justice, the Case being taken up for hearing.
